Art Nouveau Side Chairs
I was hired to build 4 side chairs that were made to complete two existing period Art Nouveau Arm Chairs from a well known Gallery in New York. The maker is unknown. The flowing shadow lines and delicate stance made this a challenge both mechanically and aesthetically. These chairs were part of a discussion for the Guild of NH Woodworker’s Journal. I discussed the sculptural elements and achieving them using a trim router. This project was a challenging collaborative effort.
